About us
The concept and image of the KOISHI restaurant has been dated as originating for almost two years. The idea of opening a sushi bar came to Janko Martinkovič´s mind about ten years ago but his dream got a sharp outline in 2006 and just at that time appears Mr Kazuhisa Iwama, interpreter, in his future team.
A newly creating gourmet district in Údolni Street, turned up to be an ideal place for their plan implementation. Mrs Simona Elsnerova, manager, gave her purely pragmatic energy and organizational capability into the project in spring 2007. KOISHI got its final look in spring 2009 despite various problems of technical and organizational character. Delays in finishing the shell construction melted the KOISHI team into a creative process of fine-tuning of the smallest details – gained high-quality staff, a Japanese Sushi Master and a style interior.
The first customers visited the restaurant in April 6, 2009. However, KOISHI is not just a restaurant. Summer terrace in the courtyard on the hillside of Špilberk expands successively into a sort of “Japanese garden”. In the KOISHI shop you can buy ingredients for making sushi and specialties of Asian cuisine, fresh chilled fish, wine, rice cooker or kimono.
